These saddle pads are a highly functional alternative to traditional sheepskin saddle pads and also offer the ideal solution for extremely sensitive horses.
Alpaca wool/fleece offers important advantages such as the natural padding of the alpaca fleece, which helps to distribute pressure evenly across the horse's back. Alpaca wool relieves pressure and impresses with its exceptional breathability, which allows optimal air circulation between the horse's back and the saddle, thus preventing heat build-up and excessive sweating.
Alpaca fleece saddle pads are antibacterial and therefore rarely need to be washed. Before washing for the first time, the saddle pad should be soaked in cold water for 48 hours to prevent the cotton from shrinking. When washing, fold the fleece inwards and wash at 30°C on the wool cycle with mild detergent. The fleece dries quickly and can be gently loosened with your fingers - never comb or treat it with a rake brush. Before washing, loose horse hair should be removed with a soft natural hair brush to protect the material.
